About takeyourspot.co.uk

This is a UK pay-to-rank leaderboard, in the spirit of the original outbid.lol. The mechanic is unchanged: bid to appear on the board, get outbid, bid again. Every price on this site is in pounds sterling.

What's different here

Everything's in £, not $. Minimum bid is £5. Claiming a rank costs that listing's current total plus £1 — same formula as the original, just repriced.

VAT invoices. If you're bidding as a business, tick the box at checkout and you'll get a proper VAT invoice you can download and expense as marketing spend. It's a small thing, but nobody else running one of these boards bothers with it.

Join the Queue. Before your bid is processed you'll see a short, real queue count — the number of other bids placed in the last ten minutes, styled like a station departure board. It doesn't do anything mechanically. It's just very, very British.

Bids decay — "the Drizzle." Every listing's total loses a little value each day (~3.0%), so a big early bid doesn't freeze a rank forever the way it can on the original board. Top up your listing and it's back to full value before the next round of decay. Framed as British weather, because it felt right.

Why it might not work

Pay-to-rank boards spread fast after the original launched, and most clones live on novelty rather than repeat use — once a spot is bought, there's little reason to come back unless someone outbids you. A regional reskin doesn't fix that; it's the same product with different currency symbols. If you're building on this, the honest addition (VAT invoices, in this case) is likely to matter more to retention than the currency change itself.
